Here’s a little collage of scenes from my last stay on Lombok from July to September. In August Tobi joined me and stayed there for 3 weeks. We have visited the following places:
Senggigi and Senggigi Beach, the Balinese temple Pura Batu Bolong, Malimbu Hill 1 & 2 and Pandanan Beach to the north of Senggigi, the Tiu Teja Waterfall and the village Santong in North Lombok, Kuta and Kuta Beach as well as the surrounding dream beaches Tanjung Aan, Mawun Beach and Selong Belanak. On top of this, the traditional market in Ampenan.
I’ve been to Lombok already a couple of times, but now it was the first time with my GoPro and I have to say: once again, it didn’t disappoint me!
Enjoy the video! We hope you like it!

Hey,
cool video. We stayed in Senggigi for a couple of nights and used it as our basis for exploring Lombok. Senggigi itself isn´t really special, but basically all tours start from there and all destinations on Lombok are in a reachable distance. Maybe you would also like to have a look at our report on Senggigi and Lombok 🙂
CU and safe travels!
We are planing to visit Lombok and some of the Gili Islands for a few days in December. However we aren`t sure how to get from Senggigi (where the speed boat arrives) to Kuta? And have you ever visited the gilis in the south of Lombok?
Thanks a lot! 🙂
Hi Julia,
I think the most convenient way with a fair price is taking a metered taxi (“Blue Bird” or “Express”, also probably possible with airport taxi “Koperasi”). Depending on your budget. There are also private transport companies all over Senggigi, but unfortunately I’m not sure about the prices to Kuta.
Yes I have visited the South Gilis several times. You shouldn’t miss Gili Nanggu. But the other islands such as Gili Sudak/Gili Kedis are nice, too. Good snorkeling spots you can find near Gili Rengit and Gili Layar (here’s our article, however, still in German: https://homeiswhereyourbagis.com/sekotong-gili-island-hopping).
I’ve planning to go lombok on march 2016.
Which area do you recommend to stay. it’s possible to stay 2 island if I’ve big Luggage.
And I’m know from lombok aor port to go gili trawangan is 2hr by car? Is expensive to spend transport cost?
And how much lombok to bali by ferry?
Hi,
Well, it’s depending on what you want to do and see. 🙂 Basically, you can take your big luggage everywhere but sometimes it might get troublesome with the small public boats (they get often very full). When you charter boats or use speed boat it will be easier.
Yes it’s about 2 hours to get there from the airport. The total price is depending on what you choose (public boat, charter boat, speed boat etc.). You can go by taxi or hire a driver/shuttle.
Long time I haven’t used the public ferry Bali-Lombok but the last price I know was about 40.000 IDR per person. Maybe they raised the price again this year due to increased gas/petrol prices.
Nice vid!
im planning to go to bali and lombok this month end and was wondering where is the best place to stay at. Isit better to stay around Senggigi or kuta? I’ll be renting a bike to explore lombok.
What would u recommend?
Thanks Hadi,
I think both places are good to stay. If possible, you should spend some days in Senggigi and explore the area up north and some days in Kuta. How long will you stay in Lombok?
Love all of your blog information. Really help me a lot for my next trip.
Hi Lisa,
Thank you. We’re glad to hear it!
