Phu Quoc is situated in the south of Vietnam in close range to the Cambodian border. The largest island of Vietnam has so far been spared from the big mass tourism, but still has a lot of sights and stunning beaches to offer.
The fastest way to reach the island of Phu Quoc is of course by airplane. There are daily flights from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to the island at very cheap prices. It is also possible to reach the island by boat, but it takes a lot of time and you probably want to use that time differently during your stay in Vietnam.

i was wondering if you could let me know if there is anywhere to stay on fingernail island in Vietnam? I am heading over to Phu Quoc in two weeks and any recommendation would be great

There are no accommodations on Fingernail Island at all. 🙁 It’s actually just one small beach and that’s it.

We paid 1,000,000 VDN for this trip (lunch included) but we could also get it for 800,000 – without lunch. We hired a random boatman at the pier and had the whole boat just for ourselves. It was great and the seafood lunch is very recommendable. 🙂 Make sure to tell him about you want to go to Fingernail Island (show a picture). Otherwise they will try to bring you somewhere else and just tell you “same same”. 😀 It’s certainly not.
