Bangkok is huge, and choosing the right area for your accommodation can make a big difference. Sukhumvit Road is particularly popular because you’ll find countless restaurants, shopping malls, bars, and, of course, a huge selection of hotels here. The BTS Skytrain also provides excellent connections, allowing you to reach many of Bangkok’s attractions quickly and easily.

Bangkok Hotels – Our Recommendations Along Sukhumvit Road

Along Sukhumvit Road, you’ll find accommodation for almost every budget. From affordable hotels a little outside the city center to modern boutique hotels and luxurious 5-star properties, there’s something for everyone. The areas around Nana, Asok, Phrom Phong, Thong Lo, and Ekkamai are particularly popular with travelers visiting Bangkok. But you’ll also find good hotels farther out, for example in On Nut or Bang Chak, and thanks to the BTS, you can still reach the city center quickly.

In this article, we’ll introduce you to our Bangkok Sukhumvit hotel recommendations across different price ranges. We’ve deliberately selected hotels in different areas so you can find the right accommodation for your stay in Bangkok based on your budget, preferred location, and personal preferences.

Located right in the heart of lively Sukhumvit Soi 11, Aira Bangkok is a modern lifestyle hotel featuring Thai design elements. There’s quite a wide selection of rooms to choose from, ranging from the more compact Superior Rooms to Premier Rooms with large windows overlooking Bangkok. If you want more space, there are also studios and suites, as well as rooms with a private Jacuzzi.

Families can also choose from spacious two-bedroom accommodations and connecting rooms. This makes Aira a great Bangkok Sukhumvit hotel recommendation if you want to stay in a central location without compromising on a modern hotel experience.

The hotel features a saltwater pool on the eighth floor, a fitness center, restaurants, and a lounge. The location is particularly convenient if you want to go out in the evening, as Soi 11 is packed with restaurants, bars, and nightlife options. At the same time, you can reach Nana BTS station in approximately five minutes on foot. From there, you can quickly get to Siam, Asok, or other parts of Sukhumvit Road.

Hotel Clover Asoke is tucked away a little in Sukhumvit Soi 16 and is a great choice if you want to stay right in the center of Bangkok. The rooms feature modern furnishings, with some decorated in bold colors and eye-catching design elements. In addition to the standard room categories, there are larger suites and special family rooms with sofa beds. The Grand Deluxe Suite, with its separate living area and plenty of space, is particularly interesting. This makes the hotel a great combination of a boutique hotel and centrally located accommodation in Asok.

At the top of the hotel, you’ll find a rooftop pool with a terrace and bar, where you can cool off after a long day exploring Bangkok. However, one of the biggest advantages is the location. Both Asok BTS station and Sukhumvit MRT station are just a few minutes away on foot. The Terminal 21 shopping mall is also right around the corner. This means you can not only travel quickly along Sukhumvit Road but also easily reach many other areas of Bangkok using the MRT.

You’ll find the DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok in Sukhumvit Soi 26, in the popular Phrom Phong neighborhood. The rooms are spacious and modern, making them suitable for both couples and families. Especially interesting if you’re traveling with kids, as childcare services and family activities are among the available offerings. The generously sized rooms also provide enough space if you’re staying in Bangkok for more than just one or two nights. Phrom Phong is also one of the most pleasant areas along Sukhumvit Road.

The property features an outdoor pool on the terrace, a fitness center, and two dining options. Around the hotel, you’ll also find a huge selection of restaurants, cafés, and shopping opportunities. The Emporium, EmQuartier, and Emsphere shopping malls are just a few minutes away. Particularly convenient is Phrom Phong BTS station, which you can reach in approximately three minutes on foot. Located right in Thong Lo, the Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit offers a little extra luxury during your stay. The rooms are modern and elegantly furnished, and thanks to the height of the building, some offer fantastic views over Bangkok. There are various rooms and suites to choose from, depending on your budget and desired level of comfort. If you want to treat yourself during your trip to Bangkok, the Marriott is one of our upscale hotel recommendations along Sukhumvit Road.

One of the hotel’s absolute highlights is the Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar. From high above the city, you can look out over Bangkok’s skyline, and the view is especially impressive in the evening. The hotel also features a swimming pool, a spa, a sauna, and a fitness center. The location is excellent too, with Thong Lo BTS station practically right outside the door. Amenities include a private balcony, a sitting area, and a kitchenette, making the hotel particularly suitable for longer stays in Bangkok. Some rooms even have a washing machine. Especially if you want a little more space and aren’t simply looking for a typical small city hotel, Civic Horizon is a great Bangkok Sukhumvit hotel recommendation.

One highlight is the rooftop swimming pool, which offers lovely views over the surrounding area. There’s also a fitness center and a restaurant. But the location is particularly convenient. Ekkamai BTS station is just a few steps away, and the Gateway Ekkamai shopping mall, restaurants, and supermarkets are all nearby. You’ll also find the Eastern Bus Terminal just around the corner, with buses heading to destinations including Pattaya and eastern Thailand. This makes Civic Horizon an excellent base for your stay in Bangkok, especially when it comes to transportation.

Amenities include an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a restaurant, and a rooftop bar. Families can also enjoy a kids’ club and a children’s pool. The public transportation connections are particularly convenient. Phra Khanong BTS station is nearby, and the hotel even offers a shuttle service there. The Kokotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 50 is located on a side street near On Nut and is our personal favorite among the more affordable hotels in this selection. The rooms are modern, cozy, and decorated in Kokotel’s signature playful style. You can choose from different room categories, including rooms for up to four people. This also makes the hotel a good option if you’re traveling with family or friends. What we especially love is the combination of fair prices, comfortable rooms, and a location that still allows you to reach the city center quickly by BTS. A really good Sukhumvit hotel recommendation for budget-conscious travelers.

On the rooftop, you’ll find a café called The Roof 50 and a small rooftop garden, where you can enjoy a quieter end to your evening. The laundromat with washing machines and dryers is also convenient for longer stays. On Nut BTS station is approximately a five-minute walk away. There, you’ll also find shopping and dining options at Lotus’s (which also hosts an evening night market) and Century Plaza. The BTS takes you directly to Asok and Siam without having to change trains, while you can still enjoy staying in a slightly quieter part of Sukhumvit.

If you’re looking for affordable accommodation a little farther outside the city center, take a look at the Romance Hotel Sukhumvit 97. The rooms are relatively simple but offer a surprising amount of space and come with a private balcony. Especially if you plan to spend most of your days exploring Bangkok and mainly want a comfortable place to sleep, this hotel can be a good alternative to the considerably more expensive accommodations around Asok and Phrom Phong.

The property’s highlight is the rooftop swimming pool, which offers views over the surrounding area. There’s also a gym and a rooftop terrace. The hotel is located in Sukhumvit Soi 97 in Bang Chak, making it considerably quieter than the more central neighborhoods along Sukhumvit Road. Thanks to the nearby BTS connection, you can still easily travel toward On Nut, Ekkamai, Thong Lo, and farther into the city center. This area is particularly interesting for longer stays or travelers on a smaller budget.

A little farther along Sukhumvit Road, you’ll find the Marsi Hotel Bangkok in Sukhumvit Soi 101/1. The rooms feature warm colors and have an overall classic, functional design. One advantage is the private balconies that come with the rooms. If you don’t need a large luxury resort and would rather have affordable accommodation with enough space, Marsi is an interesting choice for this part of Bangkok.

The hotel has a restaurant serving Thai and international dishes. However, the location is particularly appealing for travelers who don’t necessarily want to stay right in the middle of the touristy Sukhumvit area. You can walk to both Udom Suk and Punnawithi BTS stations. The True Digital Park, with its restaurants, cafés, and other facilities, is also located nearby. The BITEC exhibition center isn’t far away either. Thanks to the BTS connection, you can still get to Thong Lo, Asok, or Siam without much hassle.

Bangkok: Tours and Tickets

Do you prefer to travel with a guide who knows the area very well? Then we recommend a guided tour with a local. This way you can get to know the old town of Bangkok in a completely different way. GetYourGuide offers a wide selection of exciting tours for things to do in Bangkok’s Old Town.

How to Get to Bangkok

Traveling to Bangkok is relatively easy, as there are direct flights and stopovers from all the surrounding countries, as well as from Europe or the Emirates. Flights from neighboring countries arrive at Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) and flights from Europe etc. arrive at Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK).

Cheap flights to Bangkok can be found at Skyscanner for example. There you can compare the prices by days, see the flight duration and stopovers. Everything is very clear and absolutely recommended for a first comparison.

If you are traveling to Bangkok from other cities in Thailand or from neighboring countries such as Cambodia, then there are more possibilities. In addition to the airplane you can choose long-distance buses and trains (within Thailand) to Bangkok. Prices and times can be found at our partner 12go.asia.
