50 Euros for six beers? “I didn’t plan to buy the whole brewery!”. That’s what I wanted to say as I heard how much the others paid for beer. But let’s start at the beginning of the whole story…
The amazing view from the rooftop bar of Millennium Hilton Bangkok
A long day through the streets and the sights of Bangkok came to an end. A lot of impressions that we had in the past 10 hours.
We were lucky to have a friend who lived here and knows the city. It was really fun and helped us a lot, thanks again!
Back at the Millennium Hilton hotel, we wanted to eat something and enjoy a beer to finish the evening nicely. A word and a blow. The evening before we found a nice little restaurant next to our hotel, which was located directly by the Chao Phraya river. We saw pretty much locals around here, so we knew the food must be good. A few minutes later there was a cool Singha beer and delicious food on our table. Thai rice with chicken, just like the evening before. So damn yummy! With a little bit of chili for more spice, but not too much! We don’t want to spit fire!
After dinner, which cost us 2.50 Euro by the way (about 100 Thai Baht), I had the idea to go to the Millennium Hilton Sky Bar on the hotel roof and grab us a beer. 30 floors above Bangkok, enjoying a beer at the end of the day sounds good to me! So we ordered three bottles, which we drank out pretty fast. Whatever, it’s vacation time! The evening before we had cocktails here and the prices were alright. So beer can’t be really expensive, we thought and ordered three of them again. While I was at the restroom the others already ordered the bill and wanted to pay. 50 Euro for six beers!!!??? What a mess!!! Now we can jump to the beginning of this article…
Bottom line: the beer was good but not as cheap as expected. At least the view was overwhelming!
