Recently I spent 4 nights in the boutique resort The Chandi in Lombok and I want to give you a short experience report here.

Hotel review: The Chandi – Boutique Resort & Spa

Location

The Chandi is located directly at a calm beach in Batu Layar at the west coast of Lombok. You can reach the hotel very easily – whether with taxi or also on your own. To the tourist center of Lombok, Senggigi, it’s only a few minutes drive.

The resort and the rooms

There are 2 categories: villas with beach and garden view. I’ve stayed in a Beach View Villa with my girlfriend and we were pretty impressed. From the rooms with garden view it’s only a 1 or 2 minutes walk to the beach and the swimming pool. The gardens, which are planted with many palms and surround the villas, are very beautiful and always well cared for.

The rooms itself are big, clean and very well equipped and you will find everything you need. Free WiFi is, of course, also available everywhere, however, it was a little bit slower from time to time. As far as I’m concerned, I love those open-air bathrooms, which are quite big in The Chandi and really beautiful. Taking a shower under the sky is real fun there!

Every evening, if desired, the staff will remove the mosquitos from your room with a special spray, so you can have an undisturbed sleep. In general, the staff members are all very friendly and always walking around with a smile on their face.

Restaurant and beach bar

In the restaurant called “Meru”, which is situated almost directly at the swimming pool and beach, there is a nice choice of western and local food with a Mediterranean touch. So you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch and dinner with a beautiful ocean and sometimes even volcano view.

When it comes to the food itself, all I can say is that everything I’ve tried was super delicious! Especially I liked the huge breakfast choice. In the morning at the table you simply mark with a cross what you’d like to eat and they will prepare it for you freshly. And additionally, there is the spectacular ocean view with the fishermen and the fishing boats. It almost couldn’t get any better!

Also, at the swimming pool you can order small snacks. The “Quri” beach bar offers a huge choice of cocktails and other drinks and has a very cozy atmosphere (especially in evening).

By the way, for couples there is a possibility to have a romantic dinner directly at the beach. This might be perfect for your honeymoon trip 😉

Conclusion

We felt very well in our Beach View Villa and we really liked the food and the service. I make it short and give you an absolute recommendation! From the view of a digital nomad or blogger there were some disadvantages because of the internet connection, but from the view of a vacationist/couple everything was superb!
