From time to time there are always new sky bars in Bangkok, which means you can discover a new rooftop bar in Bangkok with every visit to the Thai capital. The view of the city is always impressive.
Some of the sky bars in Bangkok have a dress code and you must be dressed accordingly to gain access, while others do not have a dress code. Below we show you our 7 best sky bars in Bangkok and what there is to consider during your visit.
How to get to Bangkok
Traveling to Bangkok is relatively easy, as there are direct flights and stopovers from all the surrounding countries, as well as from Europe or the Emirates. Flights from neighboring countries arrive at Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) and flights from Europe etc. arrive at Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK).
Cheap flights to Bangkok can be found at Skyscanner for example. There you can compare the prices by days, see the flight duration and stopovers. Everything is very clear and absolutely recommended for a first comparison.
If you are traveling to Bangkok from other cities in Thailand or from neighboring countries such as Cambodia, then there are more possibilities. In addition to the airplane you can choose long-distance buses and trains (within Thailand) to Bangkok. Prices and times can be found at our partner 12go.asia.
Accommodation in Bangkok – our hotel tip
We have been to Bangkok many times and have tried many hotels. The Chatrium Riverside is one of our favorites. Directly on the Chao Phraya River with boat access to the Sathorn Pier, where the express boats leave, and the BTS station Saphan Taksin.
Furthermore, the hotel offers an extensive breakfast buffet, a swimming pool and large modern rooms with views over Bangkok. Just the perfect place for a bit of luxury on vacation. Find more hotels in Bangkok here.
1. Sirocco Sky Bar – Lebua at State Tower
We start with the most famous sky bar in Bangkok, the Sirocco Sky Bar in the Lebua at State Tower, known from the movie Hangover 2. There is also the Distil Bar in the same building. The bars are on the 63rd and 64th floor and offer a fantastic view of Bangkok.
You have probably recognized the Lebua at State Tower from afar by its distinctive golden dome, be it from the Chao Phraya River or other parts of Bangkok. While the Distil Bar opens at 5.00 P.M., you can only visit the Sirocco Sky Bar from 6.00 P.M. It will close around 1.00 A.M.
There is no entrance fee to the Sirocco Skybar, but if you are not going to eat in the restaurant, then at least you have to order a drink at the bar. Cocktails are around € 15, local beers are only a little cheaper.
The view of Bangkok and the Chao Phraya River (preferably at sunset, so that you can see Bangkok day and night) makes up for it.
By the way, the Sirocco Skybar has a dress code. Open shoes like flip flops are not allowed for men and long pants are also required. A t-shirt or polo shirt is fine. It’s a bit easier for women, but you shouldn’t wear shorts either. A dress and open shoes, on the other hand, look a bit fancier and are perfectly adequate.
How do I get to the Sirocco Skybar in Bangkok
It is best to take the BTS Skytrain to Saphan Taksin station or the express boat on Chao Phraya to Sathorn Pier. From there it is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Lebua at State Tower, depending on your speed. Tuk Tuks from the train station or the pier often charge too high prices. The short trip should not cost more than 50 baht.

2. Red Sky Bar – Centara Grand
The Red Sky Bar is located on the 55th floor of the Centara Grand, which you can enter via the CentralWorld shopping mall. Coming from the BTS Skytrain, you have to walk through CentralWorld completely to find the elevator at the end.
From the lobby you can take the elevator to the 55th floor and be impressed by the wonderful view over Bangkok. The Red Sky Bar is one floor higher on the 56th, and is built in a kind of circle. If you walk around, you have a 360-degree view of the Thai capital.
If you want to eat on site, it is best to reserve a table in advance. You can just drop by to visit the Red Sky Bar. The prices of the drinks start at 350 baht, but during happy hour from 5.00 P.M. to 7.00 P.M. you often get two drinks for the price of one. Snacks are also offered.
The view from the Red Sky Bar is a little different, as you are far from the Chao Phraya river. But you can see many well-known buildings such as the Baiyoke Tower II from here.
The dress code of the Red Sky Bar is described as smart casual, which means no shorts or flip-flops for men, but long pants and closed shoes. Also not too short shorts for women, normal dresses are fine and welcome.
How do I get to the Red Sky Bar in Bangkok
You can reach the Red Sky Bar via the BTS stations Siam or Chit Lom. From there, however, it is still a 10 minute walk via the Skywalk and through the CentralWorld shopping mall.

Centara Grand at CentralWorld

3. Octave Rooftop Lounge and Bar – Marriott Hotel
The Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar describes itself as the highest party spot in Bangkok. The bar is on three floors, starting on the 45th floor. But don’t worry, there is actually no big party. Only a DJ plays some live chillout music that complements the atmosphere in a great way.
Once at the top, the sky bar offers a 360-degree view of Bangkok. The drinks are also a bit cheaper, which means you “only” pay 170 baht for a local beer. With this view, an almost unbeatable price.
Since the Octave Rooftop Bar is a little apart from the rest of Sukhumvit Road’s nightlife, it never gets too crowded and you always get a seat. It is open from 5.00 P.M. to 2.00 A.M.
By the way, there is no strict dress code here. While we were wearing long pants during our visit, some other guests were wearing shorts. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t appear as you are just coming from the beach with a tank top and flip flops.
How do I get to the Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar in Bangkok
The best way to get there is with the BTS Skytrain. Get off at Thong Lo station and walk towards Ekkamai BTS station for about 5 minutes. You will find the Marriott Hotel on your left.

4. Zoom Sky Bar and Restaurant – Anantara Sathorn
On the 40th floor of the Anantara in the Sathorn district you will find the Zoom Sky Bar. It is one of the newer sky bars in Bangkok and was not yet completed on our first visit. On the second visit there was a restaurant with a small terrace and the actual Zoom Skybar one floor up.
It is open daily from 5.30 P.M. to 1.00 A.M. Neither for the sky bar nor for the restaurant any reservations are needed and you can just drop by. From 5.30 P.M. to 8.00 P.M. there is also a happy hour where you can get two drinks for the price of one.
The prices for cocktails start at 350 baht, which is a great offer for a sky bar in Bangkok during happy hour. You can also order snacks or whole dishes on site, if you are a little hungry.
Otherwise, the Zoom Sky Bar of the Anantara offers a 360-degree view of the city from a slightly different angle. You can’t really see the river from here, but you can see the Lebua at State Tower with its golden dome and many other buildings that light up Bangkok at night.
In the Zoom Sky Bar, the dress code is also smart casual. Shorts are fine, but men should wear closed shoes. Women should not necessarily wear sexy shorts, otherwise it is relatively uncomplicated in the bar.
How do I get to the Zoom Sky Bar in Bangkok
There are two ways to get to the Anantara Zoom Sky Bar. With the BTS Skytrain to Chong Nonsi station and from there about 10 minutes on foot. Second option would be the BRT bus to Arkhan Songkhro station and from there you walk a few minutes.

5. The Rooftop Bar – Baiyoke Tower II
Until recently, Baiyoke Tower II was the tallest building in Thailand, but has since been replaced by the Mahanakhon Tower. Nevertheless, the Baiyoke Tower II has the highest sky bar in Bangkok on the 84th floor.
There is also a sky walk on the 77th floor and a bar on site. You can visit all of this for an entrance fee of 400 baht. A drink at the bar is included. It is open daily from 10.00 A.M. to 10.30 P.M. You can buy tickets on site or in advance online.
Since the Baiyoke Tower II is located in the Pratunam district, you also get a completely different view of Bangkok than offered in many sky bars. The observation deck on the 84th floor offers you a 360-degree view while the platform rotates.
There is no dress code for the Rooftop bar of the Baiyoke Tower II. You can visit it after e.g. shopping in Pratunam. A really impressive view of Bangkok.
How do I get to the The Rooftop Bar in Bangkok
The Baiyoke Tower II is a little off the train and bus routes. However, you can take the MRT train to Ratchaprarop station or take one of the canal boats (Khlong San Saep Express Boat) to Pratunam. No matter which route you choose, you will still have to walk 10-15 minutes or use a taxi/Tuk Tuk.

6. Three Sixty – Hilton Millennium
On the 31st floor of the Hilton Millennium is the Three Sixty Bar with a 360-degree view of Bangkok. However, you have a different view from here than from most other sky bars in Bangkok. This is because the Hilton Millennium is on the other side of the river and you will have a view directly on the Bangkok skyline, e.g. with the Lebua at State Tower.
You can recognize the Hilton Millennium from a distance, because it looks a bit like a UFO, at least the top part. The atmosphere in the Three Sixty Bar is very relaxed, as there are often very few visitors on site. It’s not the most famous sky bar in Bangkok.
There is also a restaurant, although of course you have to expect much higher prices. Cocktails or other spirits start at a price of around 350 baht. A very cool and quiet sky bar that we can only recommend. It is open daily from 5.00 P.M. to 1.00 A.M.
The dress code of the Hilton Millennium’s Three Sixty Bar is smart casual. As a man, however, it is best to wear closed shoes and at least long pants. For women, as in many other bars, open shoes and e.g. a dress is okay.
How do I get to the Three Sixty Bar in Bangkok
The Hilton Millennium with the Three Sixty Bar is located on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya. Either you can take the BTS Skytrain to Thonburi and change to a taxi from there, or you take the Chao Phraya Express boat to Si Phraya. There is another small ferry that brings you to the opposite side of the river for about 5 baht, almost right in front of the Hilton Millennium. A third option would be to take the Hilton Millennium boat right at Sathorn Pier, which is often free of charge if you tell drivers you want to go to the hotel’s sky bar.

7. Hi-So Rooftop Bar – So Sofitel Bangkok
The So Sofitel Bangkok has two bars on the 29th and 30th floors. Once at the top, you will first to the Park Society Bar first. The Hi-So Rooftop Bar is located one floor higher, which is usually less crowded than the Park Society Bar.
In contrast to many other sky bars in Bangkok, you not only have a magnificent view of the city skyline here, but you can also see Bangkok’s “Green Lung”, the Lumphini Park. On some evenings there is a DJ playing lounge music, which contributes to the great atmosphere.
The cocktail prices start at 350 baht, local beers from 250 baht. Small snacks such as nuts etc. are available free of charge, as in many rooftop bars in Bangkok. If you are a little more hungry, the menu has a few things to offer. Both bars are open daily from 5.00 P.M. to 0.30 A.M.
The dress code of the Park Society and Hi-So Bar is smart casual, which concludes to no open shoes for men. It’s best to wear long pants. Women should not wear shorts that are too sexy – a dress, skirt, or long pants are perfectly fine.
How do I get to the Hi-So Rooftop Bar in Bangkok
The Hi-So Rooftop Bar in the So Sofitel Bangkok is situated near Lumphini Park. It is best to take the MRT train to Lumphini station. From there it is a 5-10 minute walk to the hotel entrance.
