Everything!! The staff, location, amenities. The location was also very convenient (busses and Sanjo station). I wished I had reserved this hotel in Tokyo also, too bad I already booked another hotel.

Everything was perfect, friendly staff, very clean, spacious enough for 3 people, quiet room, comfortable beds and very nice pajamas. It was difficult to resist the urge not to take one home 😅
Our room was on the 19th floor, so we also had a good view. Clean and spacious bathroom as well.
Staff also helped with shipping our baggage to Tokyo. Location is also good, walking distance to bus stops, metro. Can't recommend it enough, probably our best stay in Japan!

Hotel Gracery Kyoto Sanjo is an outstanding choice for families visiting Kyoto. It’s perfectly situated right in the heart of a charming covered shopping street, surrounded by great restaurants, local shops, and just a short walk to the serene Kamo River. The location is incredibly convenient—only about a 6-minute walk to the nearest subway station, with the route being a pleasant, covered stroll along well-paved paths.
The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, with spacious rooms that are comfortable and thoughtfully designed. The breakfast is also a highlight, offering a tasty and satisfying start to the day. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a little bit of Kyoto charm.

Really lovely area, wish we stayed longer. The prices seem to be a bit more pricy than what we were used to in Tokyo but very worth! Unfortunately found that many shops and restaurants close quite early.

Kyoto is an amazing city and a must see.
Kyoto is an amazing city and a must see. So much history and beauty. Quieter than Tokyo but still busy. Loved it. Most everything is walkable except for some of the temples and gardens but public transportation is easy.

We walked through many Torii gates, went to Arashiyama bamboo grove feels like stepping into another world-serene, surreal and a must visit in Kyoto, and there’s a lot of temples and shrine, the big one was just near the Comfort Hotel.

Love Kyoto and there is so much to do in and around.
Love Kyoto and there is so much to do in and around. As well as the well known attractions of Kiyomizu-dera, Gion, Fushimi Inari and Nanzen-ji, there are a few hidden gems - whilst it is a bit of a trek for just one temple, I think that Kinkaku-ji is worth the effort. Also, the little mentioned To-ji temple is well worth a visit where you can see the tallest wooden pagoda in Japan set in lovely gardens and visit the Kondo hall with many buddha statues. If you have time to get out of the city, Kurama and Kifune are easy to access by train and offer a welcome break from the crowds

Kyoto is old school and very busy with tourists. Plenty of things to do see and eat. Good public transit with many buses in city centre and trains going elsewhere. Shinkansen hub. 30 min train to Osaka.

We loved Kyoto and felt that we could have stayed another 2 nights to see more attractions and take our time with the ones we did see. This destination is popular so factor in busy attractions when you are booking. We recommend at least 3 full days in Kyoto

The staff was very friendly and did their best to meet any request with a more than satisfactory answer.
We truly recommend taking the half-board option as every meal (breakfast or dinner) was as amazing as it was delicious.
The true Ryokan experience also with our futons which were laid down by the staff while we were eating dinner in the hotel restaurant and these futons were put away while we were having breakfast.
Really amazing Ryokan, notwithstanding the short distance from Kyoto Station, Higashi-Honganji temple and its garden.
The best thing about the hotel is the location: it is close to multiple stations on two subway lines as well as multiple bus stops, making it easy to travel to the convention center and various site seeing spots. It's also easy walking distance the main shopping areas and the Gion area.
The hotel is also very attractive overall, but especially the front, lobby, and sentou areas. The rooms seems to choose looks over function in a number of places where I would prefer better function, but the rooms did look good (overall).
I booked a single room with shared bathroom. The room was very small but it was no surprise for Japan :) The restroom was very clean, the staff friendly, the breakfast was offered in a café nearby, just 30 steps from the hotel. It might not be the best one in town, but sufficient to start the day with energy :) The hotel is quiet and yet in a good position, not so far from Gion, has shopping facilities not far away and is at walking distance from the station (more or less 20 minutes or a subway stop)
Excellent location with only a short walk away from the Kyoto station. 7/11 is also nearby.
Breakfast is excellent. A very wide range of choices. The french toast was the best!
Welcome drinks are provided for every evening, which is a nice touch.
There is an onsen on site for the hotel guests.
Hotel and the restaurants inside are top notch!!! Hotel is very close to the Kyoto central train station and just a few minutes ride away from all the attractions. We had the best experience in here as a family of three (with a 3.5 years old)
