Love Kyoto and there is so much to do in and around.
Love Kyoto and there is so much to do in and around. As well as the well known attractions of Kiyomizu-dera, Gion, Fushimi Inari and Nanzen-ji, there are a few hidden gems - whilst it is a bit of a trek for just one temple, I think that Kinkaku-ji is worth the effort. Also, the little mentioned To-ji temple is well worth a visit where you can see the tallest wooden pagoda in Japan set in lovely gardens and visit the Kondo hall with many buddha statues. We truly recommend taking the half-board option as every meal (breakfast or dinner) was as amazing as it was delicious. The true Ryokan experience also with our futons which were laid down by the staff while we were eating dinner in the hotel restaurant and these futons were put away while we were having breakfast. It's also easy walking distance the main shopping areas and the Gion area. The hotel is also very attractive overall, but especially the front, lobby, and sentou areas.
