The Union Geiranger is a large modern upper-mid-level hotel with lots of amenities (pool, spa, etc) in an absolutely stunning location. The rooms are spacious, with clean modern furnishings, and a clean modern bathroom with nice products. It's well worth paying the modest premium to get a fjord view, as the view is breathtaking. The dining room also offers nice views. (The whole hotel is oriented to maximize rooms with views.) The dining room is very nice, with very good buffet selection for breakfast and dinner (we took both). They had a dedicated table for gluten-free pastries (nice for my celiac husband), but no GF bread. Plenty of GF selections in general at breakfast, and at dinner the chef came out and gave my husband a tour of the GF options. There seemed to be plenty of parking, and they had several EV charging stations for a fee (on the hotel's own network, so you didn't have to worry about having the right app to pay). The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
Located in Møre og Romsdal County, this hotel offers Norwegian cuisine and views of the Geiranger Fjord. Guests can enjoy free WiFi access and free private parking.

Cute classic 100 year-old hotel above the town with a spectacular view of the fjord. Lots of little outdoor seating nooks and crannies. Older hotel with new quaint renovations. No elevator but only three floors. Our room was somewhat large and in addition to the bed had a little sitting area with a couch and two chairs and a coffee table overlooking the fjord. Absolutely beautiful. Hotel is right on the road with parking available. Hotel is above the fjord information center with the waterfall stair walk down into the town, but it's on the same level as the start of the behind the falls waterfall hike. Bed is very plush. Breakfast was very nice, with a view. Excellent stay!

Absolutely amazing location, with exceptional views.
Extremely well built little cabin with everything you could ask for.
In addition, a very quick walk up to the hotel where you have access to the deck with two hot tubs and also the hotel restaurant and bar (the distillery is right there too and looks very nice, but was closed while we were there).
Breakfast buffet was really very good with tons of options and good quality food too.
Even a small but very well equipped and modern gym!
Staff all friendly and helpful!
Also nice to be just down the fjord from where the ugly cruise boats moor, meaning it’s not in your view the whole time, not to mention you don’t have to deal with the cruise boat crowds.
With spectacular views of the Geiranger Fjord and its surrounding mountains, Westerås Gard offers an in-house restaurant and accommodations options with private kitchen facilities.

Heaven on earth! The owner was sooooo nice and helpful. He was always available and took care of everything. The location is just fantastic, free parking with electric charging stations for our car (available for a really fair fee). Amazing facilities. We had BBQ and dined with a view over the fjord. We visited in the beginning of June, and the weather was great. 20 hours of sun 🌞 high pressure, warm shower after the hike is just such a blessing 🙌

It's a beautiful fjord, but because of that also very touristy and busy. There'll be a cruise ship coming in every other day filled to the brim with people that will flood out the town and surrounding hiking trails.
I'd suggest a 1-2 day visit here to see the area and the nature and then maybe move a bit further in Mørre og Romsdal to experience the nature and surroundings without all the tourists.

It was nice to stay two nights in Geiranger.
It was nice to stay two nights in Geiranger. The natural beauty of the place was so calming for the soul. We booked a RIB tour of the fjord and a private 4 hour car hire to explore the hair pin turns and views of the fjord. We were lucky to have the day to ourselves without cruise ships in port. They crowds definitely take away from the peace and quiet and the sublime beauty of the place

IMO, a minimum of 3 days at Geiranger (incase if there are a day or two of rain/clouds). It is a place of nature and ideally the place is best enjoyed through hikes or kayaks or boats etc. There are trails of every difficulty levels and durations.

As the end of the Geiranger Fjord, the village is constantly under a constant flow of tourists coming with the huge cruise ships.
The village per se has nothing else special versus other Norwegian villages on any other fjord, but this constant movement of people from the ships gives it the opportunity to be super busy and even more expensive than the normal expensive Norway.

It is probably one of the nicest areas of Norway, and the Geiranger Fjords should be visited by everyone when in Norway.
Despite the distances involved, visitors should get out and about, driving cars there requires some skill and attention, but the roads are well maintained. (Watch out for hikers and bikers!).
A day trip to Alesund is also recommended!

The cabin was relatively big, with two rooms and a living room with kițchen and with the view on the Geiranger fjord. The bathroom is for everyone and in a nother building, but thus gaves a more open and nature close sensation. In the back of the bathroom building is a BIG waterfall - gourgeous - and a little bridge over it.
Excellent place to stay in Geiranger. Very short drive to all activities in the city.
Amazing facility including a pool with great view.
excellent breakfast
nice game area for kids
close to beautiful hiking treks no need for the car.
beautiful waterfall and visitor center next to the hotel
Amazing views and a very well equipped hotel. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We tried their own distillery bar which was excellent, as was the hotel restaurant, where we received excellent service from Maria. The room was spacious and comfortable.
the view from our cabin was breathtaking. a beautiful setting and a very spacious cabin. by far the best accommodation throughout our trip in Norway. would recommend for anybody and everybody looking for something unique and special!
