We read reviews of noise around which is true , had hard time falling sleep because lot of loud talks and fighting noises from street. Also dint like how bathrooms is very hard to shower. Water will spill all over. Beds were ok but sleepless due to noise on street like till 1am. Also staff who checked us in had no clue what is around n how to go about, but nxt day staff was nice.

FAQs about hotels in Munich

Beyond Oktoberfest

Renowned for its stunning architecture and the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, Munich needs little introduction. Its vibrant cultural scene, great shopping and fantastic museums speak for themselves.

Munich has something for everyone: from historic palaces and castles, to stunning royal avenues to world class galleries and museums. Don't miss the new city hall, or Glockenspiel, in the heart of Marienplatz or the former residence of the Bavarian kings, the Residenz. Munich is also home to the world’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus.

For great shopping, Karlsplatz is a pedestrian zone which takes up much of the city centre and the upscale area around Maximilianstrasse is yet another commercial wonderland. Munich is famous for its food too, so make sure you try the local Weißwurst, Leberkässemmeln and other popular pork dishes.

Thanks to efficient S-Bahn train, getting to the city center from Germany’s second busiest airport, Munich International Airport is quick and easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, youth hostels or comfortable apartments, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Munich visit.

Munich retains its distinctive German spirit. There are many sights to visit, and there is always a reason to return (the science and technology museum is impressive). People are polite, and in the vast majority of restaurants you can find local food.

Found Munich to be an incredibly beautiful city, fairly accessible to all abilities and very clean. I had to split my trip over 2 half days, which I wouldn't recommend (had the Thursday and the Monday, would've been better 2 back to back days), as I was unable to venture out to the palace. I spent the 2 half days just walking the streets around the old town, taking in all of the architecture, the English Gardens are fantastic and would recommend. I found that the small shops selling fresh pastries to be the best spots for food, and had lunch on the go for both days

    Meh, so much construction everywhere.

Meh, so much construction everywhere. Not very accessible with train station lacking ramp on one end. Roads are old and beat up. Traffic crossings aren't intuitive and I've travelled around quite a bit. Old Town is nice. The BMW museum was nice but too crowded. I've enjoyed other cities more (Leipzig, Bonn, Stuttgart)

I studied in Munich 30 years ago and coming back with my family was a much wanted experience. Walking from Sendlinger Tor to the ChinesischenTurm, at the Englischer Garten... you must visit Asamkirche, via Viktualienmarkt (grab a bier, a brez'n, a pickle), at Marienplatz watch the clock, stop at Hofbrauhaus and have more beer and the schweinhaxen, move on to Odeonsplat via der Residenz, then move to Konigsplatz before turning to the Alte Pinakothek where you can enjoy some of the best artists humanity has produced, continue to the Englischer Garten (rent a bike if you like... kids loved to ride), and finish with another bier at the ChinesischenTurm.

Loved the old buildings and ease of travelling on public transport. Easy city to walk around. I did the Lindof Palace, Oberammergau and Neuschwanstein Castle tour which you really need to do on a nice day as we had rain and it was misty which the day, so check the weather forecast before booking.

Munich has so much to experience, it's a great place to...

Munich has so much to experience, it's a great place to visit. And, as a result, it's very 'touristy' with crowds of both Germans and foreigners massing in popular areas. We still had a good time. We found that the parks and museums were less crowded than many other popular places. Local restaurants, especially out and away from the central areas, were often delightful. If you want to save some money, stop by a grocery store (Edeke, Rewe, Lidl, Aldi) for food and drink. Bäckerei (bakeries) are fantastic and should be your go-to for breakfast and snacks. If you're a lover of beer, Munich is heaven. If you've never tried Döner, you should try it here. Buses were great for getting around. The S-Bahn and U-Bahn were often delayed, and near where we stayed the S7 offered very degraded performance because of a construction project. Most shopkeepers will prefer that you pay with cash rather than with a credit card.

Good location out of city centre. Excellent and quick transport to city centre or airport - tram, u-bahn and s-bahn literally right outside the hotel. Secure, private underground car parking - location and transport links make for a good choice if you are visiting Munich with a car. Helpful and welcoming staff. Hotel has only basic facilities, but is new and suited my needs perfectly.

My 7 year-old loved the bunk bed! It’s very hard to find a hotel with a bunk bed over a double bed, perfect if you have a young child in the room with you. We were also able to watch the fireworks from our hotel window. Travelling from the hotel to Munich city centre was very easy since the U3 stops very close to the entrance.
