Island is not far from the airport, the possibility of various water sports and day trips The best sites for diving with sharks and eagle rays at the nearby Kandoma Tila site. I have about 25 dives there. In the island is many dining options and many shops.

The trips on offer are spectacular.
The trips on offer are spectacular. I would advise you understand the type of boat you are going on and check the weather. Salt Beach do fabulous trips and the guys on the boats are great.
We did have a trip with 'Maldivian Fellows' I was very disappointed with this one as they didn't have watchers looking at the people in the water and showed no encouragement to people that were a little nervous like 'Salt Beach' guys
We did the parasailing which was fabulous. We booked this with the guys next to the bikini beach and they were great.
Ive been to the island 5 times now and love its rustic charm although it is getting busier.
I can highly recommend the 'Juice Vibe' for the best coffee and juices. There are lots of restaurants to choose from, my favourites are 'Moonlight' which is situated at the opposite end to bikini beach and the Indian restaurant next to the Kanni hotel. Some of the washroom facilities are not so clean so always carry tissues with you.

People of Maafushi treat you based on the following: if you are white-skinned and living in a resort, you get the best treatments. After that, white-skinned, then brown-skinned in the resort, and the rest are treated like they don't belong in their precious land. Their definition of hospitality means you are meant to agree and not counter when they suggest something. If you have a different opinion, you are rude and disrespectful. The nature is unparalleled, but the locals have a long way to go to learn hospitality.

It is a very beautiful small island with very warm and hospitable people. With azure water and golden beaches. Prices are very affordable, there are several good restaurants.
It was impossible to swim because there are many reefs in the water inside and we caught our feet many times, which is why we could not go into deep water, and near the shore there is waist-deep water. No one has informed us about this. The hotel must inform the guests about such details in advance.
It would be good if there would be a bridge for those who want to swim in deep water, which would give them the opportunity to go directly into deep water.

Public island - so no alcohol/ all inclusive plush.
Public island - so no alcohol/ all inclusive plush. The island is small, had good snorkeling, small shops, restaurants and bikini beach! Everyone is friendly and want to make sure you have a good time. Many options to rent water crafts, fun water sport items. Many excursions that give you exactly as they are advertise. A short trip by boat from Male makes it convienent - not have to spend all day getting to your hotel.

Maafushi is currently a construction site.
Maafushi is currently a construction site. There is building work everywhere on the island which is only 1km x 300m. It is not a paradise island at the moment.
There are lots of restaurant options but it is not cheap if you choose a venue that doesn't include the service charge and government tax in the meal price.
I would avoid Maafushi until its been re-built.
Hotel Kaani beach currently serves as a quarantine due to the Covid 19 infection. The photos of the Kaani beach hotel do not correspond to reality because there is now a restaurant in front of it.
We got accommodation in the nearby 4 * hotel Kaani Palm beach for the same price. That hotel is outstanding, located on the sandy beach which is the most beautiful on the island.
The staff is extremely friendly and professional. Shafik and Jabi were especially kind, and Sodir, a guest relations officer, stood out for his professionalism.
The staff were very nice and cordial. The lady at the reception, Maadi (I hope I got the spelling right) welcomed us at the Port and brought us to the hotel when we arrived in the evening; helped with booking the selected water sports activities and excursions. The rooms were just perfect and very clean as well. Internet connection was very strong. I liked that it was in the more quiet place of the Island, yet easily accessible to everywhere. I stayed in a city view room, but could also see the ocean partially.
The location is great. The island is a little over 1km, and everything is walking distance. Hotel is very close to the beach, the staff provided sun beds as well. It was easy to find the representative at the airport and airport shuttle was smooth. Shark Bay excursion was great. However, other hotels had sun umbrellas at the sandbank. Our tour didnt have them and it was tough eating lunch in scorching heat at 1pm.
Maafushi is a beautiful island and Triton hotel is great too. The pool and view from is lush, short walk to all the beaches and restaurants. breakfast you can get fresh omelettes which was good enough for me (other options too). and the room service food is really reasonable and also yummy. clean and tidy room, good aircon, peaceful. Good priced transfer to and from Male, ran on time. We loved it in maafushi.
I was very satisfied with the cleanless of room
Restful calm place where you can enjoy your days in maafushi great location near to everything the most good thing is Mr Ibrahim he was very helpful person he helped to realise my trip plan in Maldives he knows very well the place and the activities I recommend this place for people who are planning to go to maafushi single or family very nice villa
The hospitality was really good. The Whole staff is friendly. Good breakfast, it’s delicious. Worth the price.Close to beach .Maafushi is definitely the place if you are looking for a beautiful, calm experience. water sports , snorkeling excursions and scuba diving are great with best experience at best rates.
thankyou saif for your tasty breakfast.
thankyou island ambience for hosting us.
The staff is amazing! We had a chance to visit a few other islands but they were boring compared to maafushi. So many food choices to make up for the limited food choices at the hotel.
The people are so friendly. The staff is soo helpful and great people. I would come back again and again and again.
We were on our honeymoon with my husband and we had a great time.
The staff were the best part of the hotel. The island is very small so all hotels are close to beaches and restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff made this modest reasonably prices hotel into a top stay. I would normally mention individual staff but it's impossible since every single member of the hotels team were phenomenal.
the best decision i have ever made is to book this hotel in maafushi from malaysia as this is the first i go to maldives! very excellent and friendly workers especially ms. Zara & mr. Brij. i feel welcomed by them and somehow it make me feel overwhelmed. definitely will come here and stay here again❤️❤️❤️
Staff was really friendly and helpful. The yard and restaurant were so beautiful. The food in the restaurant was amazing. Location is excellent, close to the bikini beach.
Also, the hotel is a part of the Triton hotels so we could go to white party or have dinner at Triton Prestige hotel for free.
The hotel's location was an excellent example overlooking the sea and several islands around Mafushi. The staff of the hotel are very welcoming and always ready to assist. Our special thanks to Themiya, Mark, Metri, Rifa, Mark, Ruwan and Sohail for their outstanding customer service.
It was our first time in Maldives, it is nice island, the hotel has a nice sea view, good services, friendly, supportive staff especially Jusika and Kawsar, we did 2 different trips were very good, snorkeling was with Fazeel, it was enjoyable. The experience was lovely.
1. Very Kind Hospitality Team
2. Great Food Provided
3. Very Near to Beach
4. Very Clean Room
5. Very Affordable Price
One of the best places to stay at an affordable price on Maafushi. It is the best hotel on the island.
I’ve been to maafushi plenty of times for mini vacations, and stayed at many hotels but merijaan was the best hotel so far, clean rooms spacious, friendly staff and everything was so planned and organized best hotel in maafushi
I love the hotel, nice staffs, most wonderful staff is Rakib 💯 he is super friendly and he took me in tour around the island he helped me very much and I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel & will comeback for sure ☺️☺️👍👍
One of the best hotel in Maafushi. Away from crowd....... Had Wonderful time 😃 we will definitely visit Maafushi again and stay in Sun Rise Beach hotel..... Friendly staff and great hospitality.......
Really good and clean hotel on Maafushi island, close to the bikini beach.Hotel staff were amaizing and helpful in any situation.I will definitely recomend this hotel for stay at Maafushi.
A modern little guesthouse with the perfect 'island ambience' — great for a stay in Maafushi. The staff were extremely accommodating and overall made for a really short but great stay!
