It’s right in the middle of the city center and where all the buses and trains come through. You walk outside and you’re only a 4-5 minute walk from all the museums. Breakfast was also really good! The employee working breakfast was so sweet and friendly. She gave me a to go bag to throw some food into as I had to catch my train. The facility was very clean and I loved the ambiance. The lighting was so warm and inviting. The views from my room was also very nice! There’s nothing like a rooftop view!

Popular for its high quality of living and serving as an entry point to the beautiful Black Forest, Freiburg is the sunniest and warmest city in Germany. The inner city is crossed by plenty of charming canals and if you happen to fall or step into one, the locals say you will marry a Freiburger, so be warned!

I had never heard of this city util I was looking for an orthopedic surgeon in Germany and found the wonderful Gelenk Klinik here in Freiburg. But what a gem! Clean, beautiful old architecture, streams alongside cobblestone roads, fast public transportation make the city feel small and manageable, everything works, there is lots of culture and events. Beautiful nature walks in the Black Forest. I love this town, I'd like to stay here a year!

Freiburg is only 2 hours from home, and it was a short stopover from an Italian ski trip on return to going home. The stay was too short to fully appreciate this vibrant city on the edge of the Black Forest. The multicultural Markthalle is a must see and try for the amazing round the the world tasting of the different foods on offer. the small street cafes were superb and don't forget the amazing "Kaffe und Kuchen" rituals (coffee and cake). My Grandson Had a Carbonara ice cream in one of the Italian style cafes in the streets. Freiberg is accessible by train (ICE) and the Motorway is on the edge of the city ( Junction 42 on Autobahn A5. Freiburg is approximately 1 hour from Basel in Switzerland, which is bordered by Germany and France. The Basel international airport on the edge of the city serves Switzerland and France with differing entrances and exits and is ideal for fliers to this part of Europe.

Münsterplatz market and surrounding area.
Münsterplatz market and surrounding area. It's a cozy compact town with big city shopping and dining venues. We ate at Nordsee Restaurant often. There are lots of trams to take you everywhere, including to the outskirts of town, as Günterstal or Zähringen. We also went to Schauinsland and took the Schauinslandbahn (cable-car) to the top. And we drove 26Km to Tittisee and rented one of the many battery powered sightseeing boats for an hour, 40 Euros. Most people speak English, as it's a popular university town with many students roaming about on bicycles.

A simply incredible city - peaceful, beautiful, and full of interesting things to see and do. The locals are extremely friendly and there is something for everyone in Freiburg. The fresh markets six days a week are fantastic, public transport is precise and very fairly priced, and the food and local Baden cuisine will never leave you hungry! A beautiful place to stay for a long weekend up to a week.
Outside the city, I would definitely recommend the Schauinsland Bahn (a cable car trip that takes you 1200m up a mountain for €15) and the Keidel Thermal Baths (naturally heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools and saunas) both accessible in 20-30mins via public transport.

This was the second time I stayed here. Good location, nice view from my room, and nice lounge area. I liked the price too. Staff was pretty nice and helpful as well. And my room was very quiet. Overall the best hotel in Freiburg probably, I will come back again.
The hotel is in a lovely part of Freiburg close to the Black Forest. The nearest train station is about 350m. The room was very large and clean with a balcony. I could check in early and the included breakfast was nice with great coffee.
This little cute, vintage full of history hotel is in the city centre of Freiburg and very charming! You can walk everywhere and the atmosphere is great. Very clean and lovely and helpful hotel employees. Will definitely come back!
Excellent small hotel on the outskirts of Freiburg. The rooms were stylish clean and very functional. It is in a semi industrial area so there is not a lot around it and reception hours are limited but it all worked and felt nice.
The apart hotel was very clean and the restaurant served fantastic food and drinnk and was very popular with a fab ouside area. Added bonus of having secure private parking. Easy walk to the old town area of Freiburg.
