Easy checkin with a pleasant group of staff. Theyvweree very helpful with recommendations and answers to questions about the area. Nice roomy lobby with a nice view of a water scape and access to free coffee and tea. We did the buffet breakfast a couple days which had a wide variety of food choices. Stayed in a corner room that was a great accommodation with wonderful layout, comfortable bed and pillows. All the amenities needed for a stay, even umbrellas. Dual sinks, refrigerator, Toto bidet and large shower.
Checkout was a quick and easy 2 minutes.
Close to Pontocho Alley and Neishiki markets along with rail stations to nearby cities and points of interest

I paid for the breakfast which was excellent with their selection of traditional Japanese food and western food.
Hotel location was convenient to get to the Karasuma Station where I could catch the express train to Osaka. Also it was central to catching buses to many historical sites in the west, east and north.
The room with two twin beds was adequate. Loved the Toto digital toilet.

Great location, large rooms w balcony, availability of public baths (though it was strange that men and women’s baths had different offerings—hot and cold pools and dry sauna for men, hot pool only and steam sauna for women)

Love Kyoto and there is so much to do in and around.
Love Kyoto and there is so much to do in and around. As well as the well known attractions of Kiyomizu-dera, Gion, Fushimi Inari and Nanzen-ji, there are a few hidden gems - whilst it is a bit of a trek for just one temple, I think that Kinkaku-ji is worth the effort. Also, the little mentioned To-ji temple is well worth a visit where you can see the tallest wooden pagoda in Japan set in lovely gardens and visit the Kondo hall with many buddha statues. If you have time to get out of the city, Kurama and Kifune are easy to access by train and offer a welcome break from the crowds

Kyoto is old school and very busy with tourists. Plenty of things to do see and eat. Good public transit with many buses in city centre and trains going elsewhere. Shinkansen hub. 30 min train to Osaka.

Even though Kyoto is nice I would not recommend travelling there. The city is too crowded to visit unfortunately. There is too many tourists and I feel bad being a tourist there. You can't even visit a restaurant in the city Center or walk through the city without being stuck between other tourists. There is many other nice areas in Japan that I would prefer over Kyoto. It's just too many tourists which destroys the atmosphere

Kyoto is very beautiful.
Kyoto is very beautiful. It is very touristy but I could still enjoy wandering along the old streets, shops, restaurants etc. The temples, shrines, bamboo forests are very stunning. People are very nice and friendly. There are a lot to see in Kyoto.

We stayed here on our honeymoon for the Kyoto portion of our trip. Best thing about it: breakfast - spectacular. Truly so many options, everything is tasty, and just really good value. It's a more traditional hotel - the room was nice, not luxury, but comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the extra touch of the pajamas. Very friendly staff. We didn't have a chance to use the facilities like the onsen, but we did love the ice cream bars and the free ramen.
It was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip in Japan. Its aesthetic was amazing, combining traditional and modern interior design.
The room was super clean and comfortable. The stuff was polite and helpful.
The location was very convenient for sightseeing at Gion and Northern Higashiyama. Even if it’s not central, it offers a free shuttle bus hourly to Kyoto station that we used everyday.
We’d definitely choose this hotel again in the future.
Perfectly located in the heart and soul of Kyoto, Gion is one of the city's best-preserved historic areas and a great place for experiencing traditional Kyoto. The staff at Gion Ryokan Q-Beh is freindly. The place is clean, light cooking at the kitchen is allowed, coin operated laundry is also available at the hotel.
The ryokan was beautiful and very clean. The best I've ever stayed in. Perfect location to walk to Gion, Nishiki Market, and surrounding stations. The staff were very very helpful, welcoming and friendly. Room service was every day and my brother and I loved the hinoki bath tub.
Perfect location. Luxurious hotel and the best, biggest room we stayed in over three weeks in Japan. Would highly recommend. Easy access to the metro station, steps from the hotel. Luxury brand shops and markets in the same street.
