This was our second stay at this hotel. Super super clean, tidy, fresh smell. Very quiet and peace place to relax. Enormous room, i was upgraded by Booking.com to the Signature King Suite. The cleanliness. The soaking bathtub is really the highlight. Spa grade amenities.

Historic Melaka (or Malacca) is the capital of the Malaysian state of the same name, home to one of the country’s first sultanates. The replica of the sultan’s palace is one of the city’s top attractions.
The end of the sultanate came with the Portuguese conquest of Melaka in the 16th century. Reminders of this period include part of A Famosa fort, and there is also a fort built by the next settlers, the Dutch. Several Dutch churches also remain, including Christ Church with its pinkish façade.
Nowadays, Melaka is a melting pot of various cultures, and Chinese temples, such as wonderful Cheng Hoon Teng, sit happily alongside Hindu temples and mosques. The most spectacularly located of the latter is Masjid Selat (or Malacca Straits Mosque), on stilts above waters lapping an offshore island.
Many Melaka hotels on Booking.com are near the promenade lining the narrow city beach, and others are near more secluded beaches in the suburbs. The Melaka River splits the city into 2, and the further inland you travel along it, the more traditional the buildings become.
Just before the river’s first bend is Jonker Street, the heart of Chinatown and popular for its night markets, while a few miles to the north is Melaka Airport in the Batu Berendam district.
The only beauty of the town was the people. The locals are the only magic of the entire trip.
The food is almost near terrible. Chicken rice balls were as small as a pingpong ball and tasted like fishball. That require skills...to make one thing taste like another...
The street food at Jonker were rubbish. Not to mention how much they cost, which I think is subjective, but there is not a single thing that taste right and good, from putu puring to mere barbecued sausage. The joke went to the spiral potato that looked so good on the stick, we couldn't bite it off the stick. It was rubbery and hard. But the greatest laugh went to the barbecued chicken wings that looked so real at the street stall, and we only noticed they were props with fake flame and smoke, the real deal came superbly puny and charred black. Absolutely spitted on 9 of the 10 items we bought.
The only thing that we managed to finish with a smile:
- The Bean-paste Biscuits from San Shu Gong (awesome)
- The canned beers from the corner store (thirst-quenching magic)
The durians at the durian themed bistro were so pricey we almost fell off the chairs. But the ice cream was good and worth every cent.

Malacca a lovely town. Riverside walk quite nice.
Malacca a lovely town. Riverside walk quite nice. I didn’t much like the noisy colourful crazy bikes to hire. (I didn’t) lots of places to eat. Downtown and uptown relatively close and within walking distance of each other. Some good coffee shops. It’s a chill out place, to take it easy, eat, drink and relax for a few days. Jonker street market lively on fri-Sundays. Lots of street food.

It is a historical city.
It is a historical city. If you visit many museums, you can learn local and country's history and understand why Malaysia is a muslim country and why there is big population of Chinese and Indian. The people in this city are very friendly and foods are diversified and delicious.
Only thing you may have to realize is to get used the high volume prayer in 6 am everyday. Don't forget to check out calendar for Chinese new year and Muslim new year because the firecracker will last whole night during the new year eve.
In Asian countries there is an App called Grab. That is equal to Uber. It is very convenient to get a ride.

I really like the lobby of the hotel, gives out Malacca heritage vibes. The parking of the hotel is FREE, also just nearby and provided, not difficult to find, the staff are super friendly and helpful. The location is also amazing, just few minutes away from Jonker Street and everything touristy. I enjoy the warm, retro feeling of the room. The breakfast in the morning is included and taste great too.
Location. Opposite the hotel is Dataran Parawan shopping mall, next to hotel is Mahkota Parade shopping mall. On every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, there is a night market stretching from opposite the road all the way to Jonker Walk.
Free parking in hotel carpark and just walk around the town.
Breakfast was from 7am to 10.30am which give us ample time. The spread was good.
The hotel location was within walking distances of the Malacca River , Jonker Street and other attractions.
It’s also within walking distance from Dataran Pahlawan Mall and Mahkota Mall.
