We had a short trip, arriving lunchtime one day and leaving late afternoon the next day. We visitied the Fushimi Inari Shrine the first afternoon and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. The next morning we went early to the Kiyomizu-dera Temple by bus and then to the Kyoto Railway Museum. I love Kyoto. Have been several times. One does not need to see all the highlights. This city is so rich in sights, that you just need to walk around. Higashiyama is the best place to just wander. Kyoto was lively and had lots gong for it. Lots of temples/shrines to visit. Kyoto was very hot in July so please bear that in mind!
